First Baptist Christian School is a state licensed school and preschool. Open from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM, care is offered for infants through age twelve.
All of our CDC teachers have training in early childhood. Using WEE learn and ABEKA curriculum, our preschool classes are geared to prepare children for kindergarten. Children are allowed to choose learning activities that teach through natural curiosity and play. The learning activities help develop pre-reading, pre-writing, and early math skills. Mrs. Cindy Koopmans serves as the CDC Director.
For the 2009-2010 school year, we offer Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grades. Students also enjoy Art, Music, Drama, Sign Language, Spanish, EXCEL Challenge Lab, and weekly chapel. Our school hours are 8:15-3:15 Monday –Friday. All of our teachers are degreed with proven experience to ensure a quality educational experience. Class size is limited to 15. Our curriculum consists of ABEKA, Bob Jones, and ACSI. Dr. Sandra Phelps serves as headmaster and principal.
The buildings are bright and spacious. The fenced playground is accessible only through the building and has several wonderful structures for children's play. The security system allows guests to be screened before admitting them.
Nutritional meals are provided.
The State Child Care Management Services has awarded FBCS their Four-Star certification. (The highest rating.) The school is a member of Association of Christian Schools International and Texas Baptist Church Weekday Education Association.
